Following the Boston bombings, we are once again reminded of the virus of violence has claimed more victims. It is time to start a new virus, of hope. Join with interfaith leaders, neighbors, and students from General Seminary of the Episcopal Church and Hebrew Union College, and other local partners.
We will offer many of traditional prayers for the dead. We will name the cities that have endured such violence. We will offer up the letters of the alphabet so that God, who knows all names, can arrange them in the right order. As we turn toward our vocation as peacemakers, we will light candles and offer prayers for peace, and go in peace, to love and serve—all.
