Pick-up your free tree! In partnership with community organizations in Brooklyn, NYRP is giving away trees. NYC residents can pick up a free tree and learn how to plant and care for them. Mark your calendars with the date and location that works for you.

Registration will be posted no earlier than three weeks before a giveaway date. If registration is closed, a limited quantity of trees will be available on a first come, first served basis.

New York Cares is looking to fill a few hundred volunteer slots over the next few weeks, with volunteer opportunities ranging from park clean-ups and composting, rebuilding, sorting and pantry help, and celebration and remembrance events.  All of the projects are listed and available for sign-up on our website here: http://www.newyorkcares.org/hurricane-sandy-one-year-later
